Yes, the same concept can be applied to anything else.

Re: bounty
Makes perfect sense. Need to be cognizant to not be trapped. If you are writing with dedication and passion that should be valued. On that note, i am also very interested in writing. Appreciate any pointers that may help in that world.

Re: bounty
Absolutely @susan. The same applies to anything in general. Unless you do something you have no clue of what it is like. Once someone gets involved that changes the whole perspective. I had experienced this personally.

<Not many know all this unless they themselves write.> This is true. So then you find people who think that   thinking, planning, and doing research comes from nowhere and takes no time.

Re: bounty
I don't know. But what I know is that I don't fall in those traps anymore. If they want to see samples of my work they can ask for whatever is about the topic they want and that has already been published. Or if they still want a personalised sample they are very welcome to pay for it.

Re: bounty
Well said @Taimoor. Folks need to realize good content requires thourough thinking and research. In addition lot of input gets in from personal experiences as well. Not many know all this unless they themselves write.

Re: bounty
Heard about this. Haven't experienced myself though. I believe they get the core content and then use some rebranding an dvisuals to make it look like their own.

Re: bounty
Then there are those who ask you to write a "sample" on X topic as if you don't have enough samples already on your portfolio. That's another way they have to make you write for free and then use your work with a little edit here and there. I fell into that trap once.

Re: bounty
Ha! And that just reminded me of the many out there who asked you for "as many pitches as you can send" on X topic just to never get back to you about the work and time you put into those picthes. Then you graciously see your ideas were written by someone else. How annoying is that!
